What is Natural Family Planning?

Natural family planning is a way to postpone (or achieve) pregnancy based on your body's natural fertility signs.

What does that mean? NFP uses your body's real signs of fertility to tell when you can get pregnant, and when you can't.

NFP is often used as a general term to describe several different methods.

We'll talk about those different methods so you'll understand the differences. But when we talk about NFP here, we're referring to the most advanced and effective method of NFP - the Sympto-Thermal Method.

Bottom line? NFP uses your body's signals to tell if you are fertile or infertile.

If you want to avoid pregnancy - you avoid intercourse on your fertile days. On the other side - if you are trying to get pregnant - you would have intercourse on your most fertile days.

Don't worry if it's still a little foggy right now. It will all become clear as we continue.

Let's talk about some fertility basics...
